Piloting our Street Team in 2 other communities!
We are so thrilled to announce that Good Night Out (GNO) has received funding from the Federal Government of Canada, through Women and Gender Equality to pilot a late night outreach team in Victoria and Nelson.
Good Night Out has successfully operated a team in Vancouver’s downtown since 2017. This work has been identified as a “Promising Practise” to end gender based violence, and this grant allows Good Night Out to trial a version in 2 other communities (Victoria and Nelson, BC), operating on select dates until Winter 2025.
The teams are modelled after GNO Vancouver’s Granville Street Team to support the safety of those partaking and working in local hospitality and night life sectors. This funding also includes educational workshop programming as well as a tool kit series documenting our work.
There are 90 minute bi-monthly community engagement opportunities happening over the course of the project. We will post on our socials as soon as they are announced. There is an honourarium for participating. If you want to be informed via email about when these are happening, send us an email.
