How it works.

Our training is focussed on the nuances of the hospitality, live music and events industries to explore how the root causes of sexual violence manifest in these sectors. We look at clearly identifiable ‘risks for perpetration’ in these spaces and teach tools to help teams all help mitigate the risk of sexual violence being perpetrated, normalized or going unnoticed.

  1. Apply for a workshop.

Registration is easy. First, you fill out this form. Review our sliding scale structure and select the fee category that applies to you. If it is your first workshop with us or of the nature, we recommend you take Protective Spaces 101. This is our foundational training. Once you have completed this course, you can compliment it with additional (shorter) trainings on Disclosures, Drink Spiking, Harm Reduction and advance-level Bystander Intervention training. You get a discount on all additional workshops you take in the 12 months following the initial workshop.

2. Select your date.

Within a week, you will be sent a confirmation of you application and link to book your virtual or in-person workshop. We primarily host workshops during standard work hours, Mon- Fri but if you need an exception, let us know.

3. The workshop.

Our training uses best practices and current research in sexual violence prevention with a unique lens for your industry. We ask that you reserve 3 hours for this workshop, which we know seems like a lot, but we promise it will be engaging and fly by.

Our training helps your staff to create a safer environment for both patrons and staff, a lens that only a few projects of this nature have. The content will depend on which level your establishment is at, and which workshop you have booked.

We can support you with sample invitation text, an agenda, and promotional materials, just ask.

4. Post workshop

Following training, you will assigned a liaison to help ensure you get what you need to bring the teachings to life. You will receive collateral including posters and other print and digital materials to help communicate your commitment to staff and patron safety. You will also receive access to a digital library. We will send you a link to provide feedback on the workshop.

Depending on your pricing tier, you may also recive a copy of the slide deck and one hour of document support time to be used in the 6 months after the workshop. This can be used towards whatever you need support with - policy review or writing, evaluation, event plans or review of internal documents.
